We all know the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are for humans proudly representing their nations.
But what about the birds?
In The Conference Call Of The Birds, Glasgow’s Live Art superstars Fish & Game invite the world’s National Birds to town. And because the birds can’t make it in person, so to speak, it’s up to us to represent them.
This new multi-artform project sees the creation of 30 specially-commissioned bird posters by artist Mari Campistron, an intimate celebratory performance by Eilidh MacAskill in which the audience represent the birds, and this website where you can find out more about the birds and the countries they come from.
This project is part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme, a partnership between the Organising Committee, Glasgow Life, and Creative Scotland through National Lottery funding.
Fish & Game produces the performance work of Eilidh MacAskill and her collaborators. We create entertaining experimental performances that straddle theatre and Live Art with a particular interest in work for children in non-theatre spaces.
